My personal philosophy is you can never have too much glitter on your face. Needless to say, when I saw an Instagram tutorial on how to create your
own glitter false eyelashes, I was psyched. A Sweden-based makeup artist named Fruzan posted the quick clip earlier this week, and it's already been
viewed almost 140,000 times.
The process for creating the twinkling falsies is pretty simple. In her tutorial, Fruzan starts off by picking up one of the individual lashes from Ardell's
DuraLash Starter Kit with a pair of tweezers. Then, she dips it in a jar of loose glitter. Offcamera, I assume she brushed some glitter glue on them so
the flecks sufficiently stuck to the falsies. Then, Fruzan adhered the glittery falsies along her lash line as you would with unadorned ones. The result is
glitzy, multi-colored lashes. It's seemingly another fun and harmless way to incorporate glitter into your makeup. Or as one person in the comments

However, some people have pointed out that all the glitter could fall into your eyes and cause serious problems. Many may recall that a woman lost
one of her eyes in 2015 after getting craft glitter in it. Cosmeticgrade glitter is a bit kinder to eyeballs, but the sparkly stuff shouldn't be used in such
close proximity to your eyes. When applied onto your lids, your lashes naturally act as a safeguard. When the glitter placed on top of lashes, though,
you have nothing to block the flecks from getting into your eyes. With that logic, you should definitely proceed with caution before trying out Fruzan's
tutorial.
Luckily, some safer alternatives exist. Many salons that offer the technicolor mermaid lashes also have glitter lash extensions. At home, you can swipe
on some glitter mascara. They may not pack the same chunky sparkle effect, but they are guaranteed to be safer for your eyes.
