Look We Love: Lots of Lashes at Versace Fall 2014

After a scarcity of mascara during New York Fashion Week (I'm convinced there was some kind of collective amnesia and everyone just left theirs at home), makeup artists have more than made up for things here in Milan.

We've already seen thick, clumpy lashes at Gucci and Prada. Then today at Versace, makeup artist Pat McGrath glued two sets of false lashes onto each eye, which was an unexpectedly sexy—I mean seriously sexy—look. In real life, I suggest using only one strip of false lashes (unless you want heavy lids), but you should follow the recipe McGrath gave me backstage for the perfect fake-lash look: Start by lining your eyes very close to the lash line with a dark brow pencil. Curl your lashes and coat them with mascara. Only then do you glue on the falsie. Once the glue is dry, go over the lash line with a very fine tip black liquid liner to make sure you conceal any gaps between the lash strip and your natural lashes. To complete the look, brush a taupe powder in the creases of your eyes and dab a shimmery champagne highlighter along your brow bone, onto the center of your lids and along the tear duct. Then turn on Migos's Versace rap and you're ready to go.
